Born on January 6, 1950, in Kankakee, Jeanne was the daughter of Eugene and Daisy Barten. Jeanne graduated from Manteno High School in 1968 and on December 14, 1968, she exchanged vows with Stephen V. Frank at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Jeanne was known for her roles as the secretary at the First Presbyterian Church, a school crossing guard in Manteno for 26 years, and an adventure guide at the Exploration Station in Bourbonnais. Additionally, she devoted her time as a Sunday school teacher, room mother, sports coach, and PTO member. Jeanne was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. She found joy in baking Christmas cookies, holiday decorating, and embarking on adventures with her family. Jeanne had an unwavering attendance at every sporting event or competition her children participated in.
Known for her deep love and care for all those she encountered, Jeanne freely shared her infectious smile and warm embraces. Her utmost dedication was to her family, pouring her heart and soul into them daily, leaving a lasting legacy of love and devotion.
Jeanne is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Stephen Frank; sons, Stephen (Gayle), Jamie (Christena), and Nathan (Jennifer); daughters, Kristi (Sammie), and Alyse (Ryan); siblings, Joan (Duane) Marschner, Patti (Dave) Thompson, and George (Joy) Barten; and grandchildren, Nora Frank and Aurelia Frank.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno. A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Community Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Cremation rites have been performed.
