Today, State Representative Jackie Haas of Kankakee has been appointed to the House Republican Leadership Team by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie. Haas will serve as Assistant Republican Leader for the 104th General Assembly.

"I am truly honored to be named Assistant House Republican Leader by Leader Tony McCombie," stated Rep. Haas. "It was an honor and a privilege to be named in this role in the previous General Assembly, and I am humbled to continue in this position. There are a number of issues facing Illinois, and I look forward to working alongside my caucus to present common-sense solutions to these challenges."

Rep. Haas recently began her third term in the Illinois House of Representatives. With over 30 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, she is also the CEO at the Helen Wheeler Center in Kankakee.

Leader McCombie expressed confidence in Haas's continued contributions: "I am confident that Leader Haas will continue to be an asset to our caucus. She is a staunch advocate for first responders, public safety reform, childcare access, and mental health, which brings incredible value to our ranks. I look forward to working alongside Leader Haas as we combat the next round of out-of-touch legislation promoted by the majority party in Springfield."
