State Representative Jackie Haas has selected Rigo’s Place in Kankakee for her January 2025 local business spotlight. Rep. Haas visited the restaurant and presented a certificate of appreciation to the owners, acknowledging their contributions to the community.

“For my January 2025 local business spotlight, I am honored to recognize Rigo’s Place in Kankakee,” said Rep. Haas. “They make delicious food and are most well-known for their excellent seafood.”

Rigo’s Place was established in 2012 by Rigoberto Salgado and his son Anjel Salgado. Before this venture, Rigoberto owned America’s Bistro from 1996 to 2010. Following the closure of the bistro, they decided to embark on a new endeavor together. The restaurant also employs other members of the Salgado family.

Rep. Haas concluded, “Anjel, Rigoberto, and the entire team at Rigo’s have created a great space for everyone to come together and enjoy a meal. They do a great job running this locally, family-owned restaurant, all while continuing to make our community even better.”

Rigo’s Place is situated at 164 N. Schuyler Avenue in Kankakee. Their operating hours are from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 3:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday. More information can be found on their website at RigosPlace.net.
