A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Iroquois West Community Unit School District 10 by Kankakee Times on January 28, 2025. The media organization sought copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contained the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study."

We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information. We requested these records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, preferably in electronic format.
