The Special Board of Education meeting of Kankakee School District No. 111, Kankakee County, Illinois, was held at 5:18 pm. in room 217 at Lincoln Cultural Center, 240 Warren Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901. Kankakee, IL 60901.

ROLL CALL

Members Present: Mary Archie (Via Zoom)

Suzy Berrones, Board Secretary

Chris Bohlen, Board President

Jess Gathing, Board Vice President.

Darrell Williams (Via Zoom)

Members Absent: Tracy Verrett (entered at 5:38 pm)

A quorum was declared present.

Chris Bohlen led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comments

There were no public comments.

Closed Session

At 5:18 pm, a motion was made by Gathing, seconded by Berrrones, to adjourn to closed session to discuss:

❖ The selection of a person to fill a public office, as defined in the Open Meetings Act, including a vacancy in a public office when the public body is given power to appoint under law or ordinance, or the discipline, performance, or removal of the occupant of a public office when the public body is given power to remove the occupant under law or ordinance.

The Regular Session was reconvened at 8:45 p.m.

Action Items

1. Approval of Appointment to Fill the Vacancy on the Board of Education.

A motion was made by Gathing, seconded by Williams, to approve the appointment of Cynthia Veronds to fill the vacant seat on the Board of Education as presented. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES- Archie, Berrones, Gathing, Verrett, Williams, and Bohlen. NAYS: none. Motion carried.

At 8:55 p.m., a motion was made by Gathing, seconded by Williams, to adjourn the meeting—all ayes; motion carried.
