The meeting of the Kankakee County Board, Kankakee, Illinois held on January 14, 2025 pursuant to the adjourned meeting of September 10, 2024 was called to order at 9:00 am., by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Alexander- Hildebrand. Mr. Hunter delivered the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The following members were present:

Mr. Hess, Dr. Polk, Mr. Sirois, Mrs. Webber, Mrs. Parker, Mr. Carrico, Mr. Swanson, Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Miller, Mr. Long, Mr. Kerkstra, Mr. Hunter, Mr. Smith, Ms. Foster, Ms. Andrade, Ms. Armer-Irps, Mr. Ashcraft, Ms. Munday, Ms. Rittmanic- Emme, Ms. Turner (Kan), Mr. Marion, Mr. Lowey, Ms. Turner(Mom), Mr. Crutcher, Dr. Nims, Mr. Alexander- Hildebrand.

Members Absent – Mr. Tholen, Mr. Dunnill

Mr. Lowey made a motion to approve Mrs. Parker via Zoom. Ms. Turner (Kan) seconded the motion. Motion Carried.

Quorum- Present

Public Commentary- Mark Shelden spoke about broadband internet.

Presentation- Tim Nugent gave the annual presentation on behalf of the Economic Alliance.

Minutes of the Last Meeting-

The minutes of the last meeting were submitted to the County Board for approval. The reading of the minutes was waived. Mrs. Armer- Irps made a motion to accept the minutes. Mr. Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried by voice vote.

Claims Committee Reports

A motion to approve the following claims for November 2024 were made by Mr. Dunnill and seconded by Mr. Long. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 26 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

Departments Reports

The Department reports were read and accepted on the motion on the motion of Mr. Miller and Seconded by Dr. Polk. Motion carried by voice vote.

Ms. Munday made a motion to approve the following resolution Amend Resolution 2023-09-12- 206 to $480,600 (07) Mrs. Webber second the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 26 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

PZA

Mr. Fetherling made a motion to approve the following resolution ZBA Case#24-09; Variance 121.286.c.1 & 121.286.c.2 (Driving Spacing & Intervals) In Section 06 of Pembroke Township (08) Ms. Foster seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Highway, Waterways, & Buildings

Mr. Carrico made a motion to approve the following Resolution Authorizing the County Board to Designate the Board Chairman as the Authority to Enter into Contracts with the State of Illinois (09) Mr. Long seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 26 ayes to 0 nays.
