CALL to ORDER and ROLL CALL
The Board of Education of Cissna Park Community Unit District #6 was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Kristina Phelan, with the following Board members and administrators present: Mrs. Bret Neukomm; Mr. Jason Edelman; Mr. Brent Neukomm; Mr. Trent Kaeb; Mrs. Bethany Dodd; and Ms. Tori Legan; Dr. Daniel S. Hylbert, superintendent; Mrs. Wendy Niebuhr, grades K-5 principal; Mrs. Rachel Hurliman, grades 6-12 principal and Mrs. Kelly Swalls, board secretary.

Mr. Edelman made the motion, seconded by Ms. Legan to APPROVE THE EMPLOYMENT OF KASHA BLOOMSTRAND AS K-5 EDUCATION TEACHER WITH A STARTING SALARY OF $54,883.00 EFFECTIVE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL TERM WITH DUTIES TO BE ASSIGNED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT. Mrs. Dodd made the motion, seconded by Mr. Kaeb to TRANSFER THE EMPLOYMENT OF AIMEE MCCURRY FROM K-5 EDUCATION TEACHER INTO THE K-8 MATH INTERVENTIONIST POSITION. MRS. MCCURRY WILL NOT LOSE TENURE OR SENIORITY RIGHTS AS A K-5 TEACHER DUE TO THIS TRANSFER. REPORT FROM PRINCIPALS
Mrs. Wendy Niebuhr elementary principal informed the board that the ALD Support Project joined us at institute. Four presenters provided a simulation on dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Then two of the presenters stayed to teach and review evidence-based strategies to support students with SLD in the general education classroom. Thank you to the PTO and their wonderful volunteers for providing snacks to students. ACCESS assessments for English language for proficiency are complete.
Mrs. Rachel Hurliman high school principal thanked the PTO for snacks last week. Incentive breakfast was a huge hit. Marines talked to juniors and seniors about future careers. Students just participated in FFA week. It was a success thanks to Mr. Clifton and Mrs. Samet. Tractor day is now Friday for makeup day. Anthony Videka is the new assistant baseball coach.
