State Representative Jackie Haas has chosen Candy & Cake in Bourbonnais as the focus for her March Local Business Spotlight. During a visit to the business, Rep. Haas presented the owners with a certificate of appreciation.

Candy & Cake, a well-regarded establishment in the community, was recently voted “Best Dessert” by readers of the Daily Journal. Representative Haas noted, “For my March 2025 local business spotlight, I am honored to recognize Candy & Cake in Bourbonnais. Candy & Cake is a great local business that offers delicious treats and food to our community.”

Founded by Christeen Raymon Botros and Moheb Emil Takla in 2017, Candy & Cake began as a home bakery selling at the Kankakee Farmers Market. It has since grown into a physical store, expanding its offerings to include burgers, pasta, and Egyptian cuisine.

Rep. Haas expressed admiration for the founders, stating, “Christeen and Moheb immigrated from Egypt to be close to family and are living the American Dream. I appreciate their love for our community while still appreciating their Egyptian roots by offering authentic dishes at their new location.”

Located at 596 William R Latham Senior Drive in Bourbonnais, Cake & Candy operates from 11 AM to 8 PM Monday through Saturday, offering online ordering and curbside delivery through their website CakesBourbonnaisIL.com.
