City of Watseka City Council met March 25.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm Alderman Muench, Cahoe, Barragree, Miller, Marcier, Anderson and Alderwomen DeLahr and Rohlfs. Absent Mayor Allhands.
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Marcier to appoint Alderman Muench as the temporary chairman for the meeting. Motion passed 8-0.
A Motion was made by Barragree, seconded by Miller to Approve City Council Meeting Minutes from Tuesday, February 28th, 2025. Motion passed 8-0.

Alderman Marcier explained why the claims were so high payment was made for the Martin Ave. project and the city has been reimbursed. A Motion was made by Marcier, seconded by Rohlfs Claims in the amount of $1,059,982.81Motion passed 8-0.
A Motion was made by Barragree, seconded by Cahoe Accept and place on the file the February Treasurers report. Motion passed 8-0.
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Barragree Watseka Chamber of Commerce donation of $10,000 paid from Promotion Line. Motion passed 8-0.
Public Works/Water Wastewater
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Barragree $200,000 from water fund for Brianna to Sycamore for a 12” watermain project. Motion passed 8-0.

Liquor Committee
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Barragree Accept Liquor Licenses for 2025-2026 fiscal year. Motion passed 8-0.

Miscellaneous Business-Alderman Muench shared that Detective Marcott ordered the tasers they got the order in under the deadline to receive the discount there is a 3-month ship date the tasers should be in end of June first part of July. Chief Harris gave an update on the vehicles he stopped at Trudeau’s, they need to put the push the bumper on, and it should be ready. Squad -1 he spoke to Dralle and Ford. They will give $9000 for it, if the city fixes Squad- 1 they will give $14,000 it has a busted transmission. The council agreed to let Chief Harris look for another police vehicle. Alderman Cahoe shared that the ICOM contract needs to be taken care of next month, this will be put on the Finance meeting agenda. Alderwoman Rohlfs gave an update on the Summer and Winter Farmers Market.
