Carlos Mario Villarreal | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais
After being drafted into the Army, Carlos proudly served in various roles, including instructing Spanish-speaking recruits and serving in Europe. Upon his return to civilian life, he settled down and started a family with his wife Rosa Galvan. They welcomed two children, Mary Ann (Villarreal) Slough and Carlos Ricardo Villarreal. Carlos emphasized the value of education to his children and continuously sought knowledge through reading and continuing education courses.
Known for his problem-solving skills and hands-on abilities, Carlos built a successful career in inventive construction, troubleshooting, and calibration at steel mills and pharmaceutical companies. He was respected for his ability to tackle complex tasks efficiently and his willingness to help others. A dedicated husband, father, and provider, Carlos took great pride in his ability to care for his family and home.
Carlos is survived by his wife Rosa, children Mary Ann (Edward) Slough and Carlos Ricardo (Tashera Perry) Villarreal, four grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two brothers.
The family will receive guests at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais on Friday, June 6, from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 5 p.m. Cremation rites will follow the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations to CurePSP in Carlos' name are appreciated.
Carlos will be remembered for his dedication, generosity, and commitment to his family.
