Carol J. Veronda, age 83, of Kankakee, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Bickford House of Bourbonnais. She was born on May 23, 1942, in Herscher to Eugene and Perdella Legris Denault. On April 25, 1987, she married Nick Veronda at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Carol, a Registered Nurse, previously served as the Director of Nursing at Merkle-Knipprath in Clifton. She delighted in golfing, international travel, and entertaining her family. Carol also had a passion for music, theatre, and most of all, cherishing her role as a grandmother. She was a devoted parishioner at St. John Paul II West Campus, formerly known as St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Surviving Carol is her husband, Nick Veronda, children Rob Bovard and Alesia Hartman, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Carol is predeceased by her parents, son Collin Bovard, daughter-in-law Jane Bovard, first husband Robert Bovard, siblings, and brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee, followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. John Paul II West Campus in Kankakee, officiated by Rev. Matt Pratcher. Cremation rites will be accorded after the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
