Loretta J. Hartsock, age 81, of Manteno, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Serenity Living in Manteno. She was born on March 1, 1944, in Fairbury, IL, to Lester and Imelda Herkert. Loretta was married to Howard Hartsock, who preceded her in death on August 12, 2002.

Loretta was a dedicated employee at Jewel-Osco Grocery Store in Bourbonnais and found joy in traveling, camping, knitting, and crocheting. She was known for volunteering for the Special Olympics Torch Run and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. A woman of faith, Loretta was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving Loretta are her son Donald Hartsock, daughters Deborah Riegle and Patricia Ryan, sister Patricia DiFiore, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents, and one brother.

A visitation will be held on June 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno, with a funeral service on June 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Patrick Skelly will officiate, and burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Manteno. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Wishes.
