Dr. Raj Prasad Sinha, age 90, of Darien, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born on November 11, 1934, in India to Kapil Dev Prasad Singh, Dr. Sinha was a dedicated research scientist and professor at Chicago State University. He found joy in gardening and cherished moments with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Sinha was deeply devoted to his Hindu faith, building his home near the temple for closer connection. He is survived by his daughter Nilu Sinha-Tiwari, Ena Do, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Sinha was preceded in death by his wife, Rani P. Sinha, his parents, one son, Dr. Rajiv Sinha, and 12 siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Cremation rites will follow the service. Memorial gifts can be sent to the family through the Sympathy Store. Dr. Raj Prasad Sinha will be remembered for his contributions to academia and his devotion to his family and faith.
