David A. Deneau Sr., Safety Education Trainer and Music Enthusiast, Dies at 76

David A. Deneau Sr. | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Clifton - David A. Deneau Sr., 76, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born on November 22, 1948, David married Barbara Rogers in 1968, and they shared many wonderful years together until her passing in 2022.

David worked as a safety education trainer at SWIFT and was a member of the Kankakee Boat Club. He had a passion for singing, playing guitar, trap shooting, fishing, camping, golfing, and motorcycles. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Topper.

A veteran of the Army reserves, David drew strength and comfort from his Christian faith. He is survived by his sons Allen Deneau and Brian Deneau, grandchildren Madeline Deneau and Dillon Deneau, and the extended Rogers family. Preceded in death by his wife and parents, David will be deeply missed.

There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with inurnment at Danforth Cemetery to follow. Memorials in David's honor can be made to the Iroquois County Animal Rescue. David will be remembered for his love of music, outdoor activities, and devotion to his family.
