U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who serves Illinois's 2nd congressional district, recently posted a series of messages on her official Twitter account addressing student engagement in technology and ongoing issues affecting veterans.

On August 7, 2025, Kelly encouraged students to participate in a national competition, writing: "Middle & high schoolers in #IL02. It is time to code!

The Congressional App Challenge is open! Build your own app & compete for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding federal support for veterans, stating: "The administration's cuts to the VA and hiring freezes are an insult to those who served. Laying off thousands of veteran federal workers is a betrayal. Our heroes deserve our full support, not these undignified and disrespectful attacks. We must do better for our vets." This post reflects her ongoing advocacy for veteran affairs.

In another message posted on August 7, Kelly highlighted her visit to Farm2Veteran, an organization providing meals to veterans. She wrote: "I toured Farm2Veteran yesterday & saw their incredible work firsthand: over 250,000 meals provided to veterans. The demand for their services will only grow as the cost of living keeps rising. We have an obligation to ensure veterans aren't left behind. https://t.co/OglCI823Mg"

Robin Kelly has maintained strong electoral support since first being elected to Congress. In recent election cycles, she won re-election by significant margins against multiple challengers—defeating Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote, and similarly large victories against Theresa Raborn in 2020, David Merkle in 2018, John Morrow in 2016, and Eric Wallace in 2014.
