U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, a Democrat from Illinois, addressed several policy issues and recent events in a series of posts on her social media account in late August 2025.

On August 23, Kelly commented on the financial burden faced by parents purchasing school supplies, stating, "No parent should feel 'ouch' at the register while buying school essentials. ".

Later that day, she expressed gratitude to organizations hosting her at a Congressional Delegation Forum and discussed healthcare policy. In her post dated August 23, she wrote, "Grateful to the organizations who invited me to speak at the Congressional Delegation Forum. When we do fix Medicaid after Republicans gut it, I promise to make it better and ensure it protects healthcare and dignity for all — especially the LGBTQ+ community."

On August 24, Kelly reflected on legislative efforts to protect voting rights and honored civil rights leader John Lewis. She posted, "Four years ago, @HouseDemocrats honored my friend John Lewis by passing the Voting Rights Act in his name. He gave everything for our right to vote. We must continue that fight and never let extremists threaten the legacy of those who fought and died for that right."

Robin Kelly has held her seat in Congress since winning a special election in 2013 and has consistently secured reelection with significant margins. In recent elections, she defeated Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote; Theresa Raborn in 2020 with nearly 79% of votes; David Merkle in 2018 with more than four-fifths of votes; John Morrow in 2016 with almost 80%; and Eric Wallace in 2014 with about 78%. These results highlight her longstanding support among constituents.
