U.S. Representative Robin Kelly recently addressed issues concerning veterans' abortion access and labor rights in a series of posts on her official social media account.

On August 25, 2025, Kelly posted about veterans' health care, stating: "Cruel policies that strip veterans and their loved ones of abortion access are a dangerous attack on those who served our nation. I stand with our veterans and demand President Trump and @SecVetAffairs reject this rule." The statement was made as part of an ongoing national debate over reproductive health care for veterans.

Later the same day, Kelly highlighted her support for organized labor after receiving recognition from a local labor council. On August 25, 2025, she wrote: "Honored to have received the Friend of Labor Award from the Chicago & Western Lakes Port Council a few weeks ago. The fight for good jobs and fair wages continues, and I'll always stand with our union workers."

In another post on August 25, 2025, Kelly reiterated her stance on workers’ rights: "Let's be clear: hard work deserves to be rewarded. That's why I'm fighting to protect unions and defend workers' rights so the American Dream is within reach for everyone."

Robin Kelly has represented Illinois’s 2nd congressional district since winning a special election in 2013. She has maintained significant electoral margins in subsequent general elections. In 2022, she defeated Thomas Lynch with over two-thirds of the vote; previous victories include wins against Theresa Raborn in 2020, David Merkle in 2018, John Morrow in 2016, and Eric Wallace in 2014.
