U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has recently taken to social media to express her views on public safety policies and gun control measures.

On September 3, 2025, Kelly stated, "Deployment of the National Guard to Chicago is a waste of taxpayer dollars. We need that money for CVI programs, police training & to hire mental health professionals. This isn't a plan to fight crime; it's a political stunt." She followed this message with another post encouraging readers to view her full statement: "Read my full statement at https://t.co/svGwOBwUyP".

The following day, on September 4, 2025, Kelly addressed gun safety legislation by highlighting the prevalence of unsecured firearms in households: "4.6 million kids live in homes with an unsecured gun. My Safe Storage Saves Lives Act with @RepRashida requires a gun lock to be provided to every gun owner. Safe storage saves lives — it’s that simple."

Robin Kelly has consistently secured victories in past congressional elections, defeating opponents such as Thomas Lynch in 2022 with 67.1% of the vote, Theresa Raborn in 2020 with 78.8%, David Merkle in 2018 with 81.1%, John Morrow in 2016 with 79.8%, and Eric Wallace in 2014 with 78.5%. These results reflect her continued support within her district.
