U.S. Representative Robin Kelly addressed several public health and environmental issues in a series of posts on September 18, 2025. Kelly, who has represented Illinois in Congress since 2013, commented on recent changes to the Advisory Council on Immunization Practices, advocated for climate protections, and promoted legislation aimed at early cancer detection.

On September 18, Kelly criticized Secretary Kennedy's actions regarding the Advisory Council on Immunization Practices. She wrote, "RFK Jr. hijacked the Advisory Council on Immunization Practices, replacing vetted scientists with anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists. Secretary Kennedy is jeopardizing public health. This so-called 'transparency' purge dismantles safeguards of our nation's healthcare system."

Later that day, Kelly discussed her participation with the Illinois Congressional Delegation in urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to uphold the Endangerment Finding—a key regulatory tool for addressing climate change. In her post dated September 18, she stated: "Fighting for our future, I joined the Illinois Congressional Delegation to urge the EPA to protect the Endangerment Finding. We must protect our communities from climate change and the polluters who risk our health. You can read our letter here: https://t.co/b11DO0Gru4"

In another post later that evening, Kelly emphasized her support for bipartisan efforts to improve cancer detection among seniors through legislative action. She wrote: "Too many cancer diagnoses come too late. That's why I'm fighting for the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act. This bipartisan bill will expand access to early screenings for seniors & help turn the tide on this devastating disease."

Robin Kelly has maintained strong electoral support throughout her congressional career. In previous elections, she won by wide margins against her opponents—defeating Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over 67% of the vote; Theresa Raborn in 2020 with nearly 79%; David Merkle in 2018 with more than 81%; John Morrow in 2016 with almost 80%; and Eric Wallace in 2014 with over 78%.
