State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) has named D. Westphal Jewelers Inc. as her September 2025 Local Business Spotlight, recognizing the company’s 55th anniversary. Haas visited the store, located at 407 W Broadway Street in Bradley, and presented owner Darren Westphal with a certificate of appreciation.
“I’m honored to highlight D. Westphal Jewelers as this month’s Local Business Spotlight,” said Rep. Haas. “For more than five decades, this family business has served our community with excellence and expertise that spans three generations.”
D. Westphal Jewelers was established in 1970 by Darren Westphal’s grandfather and later managed by his father. Darren, who previously worked as a union bricklayer, took over the business in 2015 after his father passed away. The store currently employs six staff members who are experienced and dedicated to customer service.
Rep. Haas stated, “What stood out to me most was the dedication to both tradition and craftsmanship. D. Westphal Jewelers continues to be a trusted name for families in our area, and their long history makes them an outstanding choice for this recognition.”
Haas was elected as a Republican representative to Illinois’ 79th House District in 2020, succeeding Lindsay Parkhurst.
