On September 24, 2025, Kelly posted about the potential for a government shutdown and criticized Republican leadership. She wrote, "In SIX DAYS, the government shuts down, and Republicans are nowhere to be seen. President Trump chickened out and cancelled a meeting with Democrat leaders. Affordable healthcare, food assistance, and vital services are on the line. I am joining @HouseDemocrats to protect" (September 24, 2025).

Later that evening, Kelly shared news of an award she received for her work in cancer prevention. She stated on September 24, 2025: "Honored to receive the Cancer Champion Award for my work expanding cancer prevention and early detection.
