Robin Kelly has represented Illinois' 2nd Congressional District since winning a special election in 2013 and has been re-elected multiple times by significant margins; for example, she defeated Thomas Lynch in the 2022 general election with approximately 67% of the vote. Her previous victories include defeating Theresa Raborn in 2020 (78.8%), David Merkle in 2018 (81.1%), John Morrow in 2016 (79.8%), and Eric Wallace in 2014 (78.5%).
