U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has consistently won her seat in Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District since 2014, recently used her social media platform to highlight issues impacting families and communities in Illinois.

On September 26, Kelly addressed proposed reductions to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by stating, "Republican cuts to SNAP affects all of us: SNAP cuts Farmers lose business Rural communities suffer Grocery prices rise Trump’s trade war already cost farmers overseas clients—now Republicans are making it harder at home. We must support the people who feed America."

Later that day, she discussed concerns about housing affordability in Illinois, writing, "Housing affordability is top of mind for families across Illinois. This week, I joined Illinois REALTORS for their “Let’s Talk Real Estate” Townhall to discuss the market, challenges, and solutions that strengthen our communities." The town hall event brought together stakeholders to address current challenges in the real estate market.

On September 27, Kelly highlighted efforts by her office to support veterans and their families through local partnerships. She stated, "My office held Mobile Office Hours at the Veterans Assistance Commission of Kankakee County. This is one of our many community partnerships to assist veterans and their families with VA benefits, service records, Social Security, healthcare, passports, and more."

Kelly has maintained strong electoral support throughout her tenure in Congress. In the most recent general election of 2022, she defeated Thomas Lynch with over two-thirds of the vote. Previous elections have seen similar margins against Republican challengers such as Theresa Raborn (2020), David Merkle (2018), John Morrow (2016), and Eric Wallace (2014).
