Fire Prevention Week will take place from October 5 to 11, focusing on the theme “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The campaign is designed to raise awareness about the safe use of lithium-ion batteries. Organizers are encouraging people to follow three key steps with these batteries: buy them carefully, charge them correctly, and recycle them responsibly.

The message aims to address the increasing use of lithium-ion batteries in households and prevent fire hazards related to improper handling or disposal.

Illinois State Representative Jackie Haas was elected in 2020 as a Republican for the state’s 79th House District, taking over from Lindsay Parkhurst.
