City of Watseka City Council met Sept. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Mayor Marcier, Aldermen Miller, Muench, Garfield, Dewitt, Pence, Petersen, Alderwoman Rohlfs 

ABSENT: Alderman Brault 

GUESTS: Keith Mulholland with Robinson Engineering and Public Works Director Loren Grosvenor 

Mayor Marcier opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. There was no public comment. Mayor Marcier stated the reason for the special called meeting was to review and approve the bid and contract for the Cherry St Resurfacing project from 5th St to 8th St. with curbs and ADA sidewalks. Keith stated the project came in at $298,081.30 from IPC. The money for this project will come from 2022 Road Bond in the amount of $106,000, $100,000 from MFT and the balance of $92,000 from the general fund. This project will be completed by November 5th .

Alderman Garfield makes a motion to approve the IPC bid for the Cherry St. Project from 5th St to 8th St at $298,081.30 with $106,000 coming from the 2022 Road Bond, $100,000 from MFT and the balance from the general fund, Alderwoman Rohlfs seconded. Roll call carried 7-0.
