U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has voiced strong opinions on several current issues in a series of recent posts on her official X account, addressing immigration enforcement, Congressional priorities, and LGBTQ+ rights.
On October 10, 2025, Kelly expressed concern about the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), stating: "I’m frustrated and angry by ICE raids in our communities — and I know you are, too. The dangerous escalation of ICE raids affect all of us, as they even arrest US citizens. It’s evil and cruel. It must stop."
Later that same day, she criticized House Republicans for what she described as a lack of action on key legislative matters: "Republicans are refusing to do their jobs. Once again, Speaker Johnson canceled votes for Tuesday instead of fixing the health care crisis, swearing in Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva, or releasing the Epstein files. It’s clear their priorities are in service to billionaires."
On October 11, 2025, Kelly marked National Coming Out Day with a message supporting LGBTQ+ individuals: "National Coming Out Day reminds us that everyone deserves to live boldly and authentically. I’m proud to be a fierce ally to the LGBTQ+ community today and every day. Love and acceptance make our nation stronger."
Robin Kelly has served as U.S. Representative since winning a special election in 2013. She has consistently secured re-election with significant margins; for example, she defeated Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote (67.1%), Theresa Raborn in 2020 with nearly four-fifths (78.8%), David Merkle in 2018 with more than four-fifths (81.1%), John Morrow in 2016 with almost four-fifths (79.8%), and Eric Wallace in 2014 with over three-quarters (78.5%).
