U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has used her social media platform to criticize House Republican leadership and former President Donald Trump, highlighting concerns over the ongoing government shutdown, immigration enforcement actions in Chicago, and transparency regarding the Epstein files.
On November 2, 2025, Kelly posted: "It’s been 33 days since the government shut down. Speaker Johnson still refuses to bring the House back to work, swear in Rep.-elect Grijalva, or meet with Democrats to protect affordable healthcare. Instead, he’s rubber-stamping Trump’s plan to gut food assistance."
In a subsequent tweet on November 3, 2025, she addressed recent immigration enforcement actions: "Trump says he’s going after 'the worst of the worst.' But his ICE raids are tearing apart Chicago’s workforce — from hospitality to manufacturing. ICE isn’t targeting criminals; they’re targeting hardworking, taxpaying people. That’s not justice. It’s cruelty."
Later that day, Kelly commented on calls for transparency related to the Epstein files: "Republicans can’t claim to stand for 'law and order' while hiding the Epstein Files. Real justice means truth—regardless of who it implicates. The victims deserve justice. Americans deserve transparency."
Robin Kelly has served as a U.S. Representative since first winning her seat in 2013 and has consistently secured re-election by significant margins in subsequent general elections against various opponents.
