State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) has named Vaughn Outlet as her October Local Business Spotlight. The recognition highlights the store’s long-standing presence in the Kankakee community and its ongoing commitment to serving local families.

Haas visited Vaughn Outlet, where she met with owners Jeff and Steven Vaughn. She presented them with a certificate of appreciation for their work in the area. “I’m honored to feature Vaughn Outlet as this month’s Local Business Spotlight,” said Rep. Haas. “The Vaughn family has shown resilience and commitment by reopening their store and continuing to serve our community with a focus on working families.”

Vaughn Outlet has operated in Kankakee for several decades as a family-run business. After closing temporarily, Steven Vaughn reopened the store in 2011, later joined by his father Jeff three years after. The outlet is now staffed by four full-time members of the Vaughn family, all dedicated to providing affordable products for local residents.

“It’s inspiring to see a family so dedicated to keeping their business thriving for generations. Vaughn Outlet represents the kind of hard work and community spirit that makes Kankakee such a special place,” added Rep. Haas.

Vaughn Outlet is located at 136 W Charles Street in Kankakee, and more information can be found at their website, VaughnOutlet.com.

Jackie Haas was elected as a Republican representative to Illinois’ 79th House District in 2020, succeeding Lindsay Parkhurst (https://ballotpedia.org/Jackie_Haas).
