U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has consistently secured re-election since 2014, used her social media platform in early November 2025 to criticize Republican actions on healthcare, immigration enforcement, and nutrition assistance programs.
The following day, she addressed immigration policy and law enforcement tactics under former President Trump and Secretary Noem. On November 4, she wrote: "President Trump wants more ICE raids. I’ve seen agents point guns at people, deploy tear gas, zip-tie kids, and tear families apart, but to him, that’s not enough. Sec. Noem and President Trump are using fear to terrorize whole cities."
Later that same day, Kelly commented on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), stating: "President Trump refuses to fully fund SNAP, even after two court orders. He plans to fund it partially at his convenience instead of fully & immediately. Partial funding isn’t enough—families, vets, seniors, & people with disabilities deserve full access to benefits."
Robin Kelly has represented her district for multiple terms in Congress. She won re-election against Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over 67% of the vote; previous victories include wins over Theresa Raborn in 2020 (78.8%), David Merkle in 2018 (81.1%), John Morrow in 2016 (79.8%), and Eric Wallace in 2014 (78.5%). These results underscore her longstanding support among constituents.
