U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has consistently won re-election in Illinois’ 2nd congressional district since 2014, posted several statements on her official Twitter account between November 4 and November 5, 2025. Her posts addressed topics ranging from Congressional recesses to Native American Heritage Month and concerns about federal law enforcement actions.
On November 4, Kelly commented on the House Republican caucus's recent activities: "House Republicans have been on vacation for over 34 days, which likely explains why Speaker Johnson missed the memo about President Trump pardoning Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance.
Trump’s family, by the way, has benefited millions of dollars from Binance." This tweet referred to reported developments involving former President Donald Trump and the cryptocurrency platform Binance.
Later that evening, on November 5, Kelly acknowledged Native American Heritage Month with a message of recognition: "Happy Native American Heritage Month!
This November, we honor American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and all Indigenous peoples nationwide.
I am committed to recognizing their enduring achievements and vital contributions to our country."
In a subsequent post early on November 5, Kelly described an incident involving federal immigration authorities: "Federal agents crashed into a woman’s car, pulled her out at gunpoint, and forced her into a minivan.
She was held for hours, then released without charges or explanation.
Chicagoans say ICE is out of control. But President Trump says he wants more."
Robin Kelly has maintained a strong electoral presence in her district. In past general elections she defeated Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote; prior victories include wins against Theresa Raborn in 2020 (78.8% to 21.2%), David Merkle in 2018 (81.1% to 18.9%), John Morrow in 2016 (79.8% to 20.2%), and Eric Wallace in 2014 (78.5% to 21.4%).
