U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has used her social media platform to address concerns over food assistance, healthcare costs, and federal spending priorities in a series of posts published between November 5 and November 6, 2025.

On November 5, Kelly highlighted the significance of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in her district. She stated, "SNAP feeds families, veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. In my district, one in four people rely on SNAP to make ends meet. Instead of releasing the funds, Trump is deepening the crisis—and hunger hurts everyone, from farmers to grocery store employees."

Later that evening and into the following day, Kelly criticized President Trump's spending decisions during a period she described as challenging for many Americans. On November 6 she wrote: "Families are struggling to pay their bills, put food on the table, and afford healthcare. Yet President Trump is refurbishing a new jet, taking golf trips, and sending money to Argentina to bail them out. What about hardworking Americans?"

In another post on November 6 addressing healthcare affordability amid open enrollment season for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Kelly said: "Open enrollment started this week; millions of Americans are finding out just how much their premiums skyrocketed because Republicans will let ACA tax credits expire. President Trump & Republicans are responsible for this healthcare crisis."

Robin Kelly has represented Illinois' 2nd congressional district since winning a special election in 2013. She has consistently secured reelection by wide margins over multiple cycles—including victories against Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote and similarly decisive wins against Theresa Raborn in 2020, David Merkle in 2018, John Morrow in 2016, and Eric Wallace in 2014.

Her recent statements come at a time when debates continue over federal support programs such as SNAP and ACA tax credits—issues affecting many constituents across her district.
