Action, Ordinance: B. ORDINANCE NO. 26-2528 An Ordinance Approving the Purchase of Vehicles for the Police Department (FIRST READING)
Motion by Trustee Rick Fischer, second by Trustee Randy King to read Ordinance 26-2528 by title only.

>Tara Latz states this ordinance will allow the purchase of two new squad vehicles as well as equipping a current village leased pick up truck into a police patrol vehicle. The total cost of this purchase is $155,148 which is inclusive of all equipment and necessary features for street patrol. Bank of Bourbonnais offered the lowest rate of 3.95% for 4 years. The Police Department plans on auctioning off three older squad cars that these vehicles would be replacing.
Motion by Trustee Rick Fischer, second by Trustee Randy King to suspend the rules and have a second reading on Ordinance 26-2528 tonight.

>Trustee Littrell shares there was a Strategic Planning Meeting on Thursday February 12th about ideas for the future of Bourbonnais. It was a discussion, there was no action taken.

>Synthetic Ice Rink – Open Skate daily from 10am-10pm, outside skates welcome and a ticket is not required. $5 skate rentals are available on Saturday’s from 1pm-4pm. Tickets must be purchased online at villageofbourbonnais.com or walk ups are welcome.
>Riverfront Park Public Workshop – Thursday February 19, 2026 from 5:30pm-7pm in the Community Room at the Bourbonnais Municipal Center.
>Special Olympic Polar Plunge – Saturday, March 7th at the Manteno Sportsman’s Club. Support The ‘Bourbonnais’ Police Department by making a donation online on our website.
>St. Patrick’s Day Senior Dinner – Wednesday, March 11th at the Quality Inn. Ages 55 and older are invited for an old fashioned Irish dinner and entertainment by Cosmic Rewind. Tickets are $10 each and are available in person at any Bourbonnais Township Park District facility. The deadline to register is Friday, February 27th, by 1pm or until full.

> February 27, 2026 our Building Department will be moving into our Public Works building. Thank you to Riverside to help facilitate the move with providing equipment such as chairs and desks.
>Please donate to Polar Plunge as Mayor Keast himself will be participating.
>Deputy Chief Sztuba added the goal is to raise $6,000. This is a community event, anybody can join the team. You can sign up online.
