>Trustee Littrell announced the Village is hiring a Communication Manager through Friday, February 6, 2026 until 4:30 PM.

>Mayor Keast reminded the Board that the annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics will be taking place on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Manteno Lake starting at 2:00 PM.
10. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE – Trustee Randy King, Chair
Information: A. Public Works Committee
>Trustee King informed the Board that Public Works has undecorated the Village of Christmas decorations. The synthetic ice rink will stay up through the month of January and be disassembled in February. The total for snow removal for this season comes to a total of 7,373 miles on machinery, 800 hours of manpower, 1371 tons of salt totaling $169,275 in expenses.
11. COMMUNICATION & ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE – Trustee Angie Serafini, Chair
Information: A. Communication & Engagement Committee
>The synthetic ice rink will continue through the month of January. Open skate will continue daily from 10:00 AM-10:00 PM, outside skates welcome and a ticket is not required. $5 skate rentals will be available on Saturday’s from 1:00-4:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased online ahead of time, or walk-ups are welcome on a first come, first serve basis. In the event of inclement weather, any closure announcements will be made via the Village’s Facebook page.
>The 9th annual Chocolate Tour will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2025. A reminder that you do not need a Chocolate Tour ticket to participate in bidding on raffle baskets. Donated baskets will be available for viewing at Bishop McNamara Catholic School in their gymnasium from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. Winners will be pulled at 5:00 PM via Facebook Live and do not need to be present. All proceeds and ticket sales will be donated back into our community. This year’s event proceeds benefit the Village of Bourbonnais’ The Grove with new Children’s Safety Center programming and funding for exhibit updates at Bourbonnais Township Park District’s Exploration Station.

>Mayor Keast expressed his condolences to Jayne Raef and Alan Smietanski’s family who passed away recently.

Procedural: A. Public Comments
>Trustee Fischer thanked the Bourbonnais Police Department for patrolling his home while he was on vacation.
>A resident commented on the Daily Journal article that was released regarding Bourbonnais and the sanctuary status for ICE. He stated that he did not agree with the article and commended the Board on keeping Bourbonnais a safe place.
19. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Action, Procedural: A. Enter into Executive Session to discuss the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body 5 ILCS 120/2 (C)(6) and (2) to discuss the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired as allowed by 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(5).
