The Village of Bourbonnais held its regular meeting Nov. 2.
The meeting opened with the village reading a proclamation honoring the recent athletic achievements of the Maternity BVM girls and boys cross country teams who won the championship at this year's Illinois Elementary School Association 1a State Cross Country Meet.
The trustees also honored longtime community servant Gerald Savoie, who passed away recently. President Paul Schore reported the passing of the former trustee and Planning Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals member.
The trustees also announced that a new backstop has been installed at Latham Park and that the electrical upgrade at Briarcliff lift station has been finished.
Village Clerk Brian Simeur gave a first reading of an ordinance approving a redevelopment agreement between the village and Kankakee Valley Montessori.
Trustee Randy King, speaking for the Buildings and Grounds Committee, reported that a recent inspection found that three heating and cooling units at the Municipal Center need replacing.
The Village is still considering candidates for the open village administrator position.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday at the Administration Building.
