The Momence City Council approved a $415,266 tax levy at its Dec. 7 meeting.
The 2015 levy is approximately $20,000 more than last year's levy and allocates $158,290 for the general fund, $38,276 for municipal insurance, $60,362 for police, $70,424 for liability insurance, $26,003 for streets and alleys and $61,911 for worker's compensation.
Momence's tax levy represents slightly less than 7 percent of its total $6,135,350 operating budget.
