The Momence City Council held its regular meeting Nov. 16.
The council approved the city's participation in a Kankakee Visitors Bureau Grant program that will award the city $10,000 for local improvements on the condition the city provide a $2,000 match.
The city will renew its liability, property and umbrella insurance policies through Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust and pursue workers' compensation insurance through the National Compensation Insurance Program.
The trustees approved the Police Committee's recommendation to hire Ryan Yeager at a salary of $36,610. Yeager began his duties at the beginning of this month.
The city will also move forward with preparations for road repairs on Routes 1 and 17.
