Bourbonnais Finance Director Michael Wolf read an overview of Bourbonnais' 2015/2016 tax levy to an empty room at a mandatory public hearing minutes before the village's Dec. 7 board meeting.
Wolf announced the total levy amount as $1,539,190, a 3.89 percent increase from last year. The village will also increase property taxes on a $200,000 home by $11.62.
Wolf said the increases will cover fuel costs, village salaries and other expenses.
The meeting adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
