Kankakee Community College is looking for nominations for its annual John M. Fulton Distinguished Alumnus awards.
The award began in 2009 and is named in honor of KCC graduate, Alumni Association member and Vietnam veteran John Fulton. The award celebrates graduates who have endured challenges to succeed in their fields while also demonstrating an exemplary commitment to humanitarian causes and service.
"Our institution, in many ways, is defined by its graduates,” KCC Coordinator of Scholarships and Annual Giving Aindrea Hogan said. “There are more than 12,000 area residents who hold degrees from KCC, and they are certainly making an impact. We want to acknowledge those alumni who consistently make a difference and who are positive role models for current students and for the community-at-large."
Winners will be recognized during commencement ceremonies in May and will also be treated to a special dinner as guests of the KCC Foundation.
"Many of our graduates have gone on to accomplish personal and professional triumphs, and we would like to recognize them for that," KCC Foundation Executive Director Kelly Myers said. "Their success reflects upon the community. We would like to recognize those achievements."
Nomination forms are due by Jan. 21 and are available at www.kcc.edu/distinguished-alum. Completed forms should be e-mailed to alumni@kcc.edu.
