Momence Mayor Mick Porter announced Monday that extensive sidewalk replacement on the 100 block of East Washington Street is expected to begin the last week of March.
Porter said the $370,000 project will take approximately five to seven weeks to complete. During that time, crews will replace the sidewalk, plant trees and paint and reset light posts.
Eighty percent of the project's costs will be covered by the federal government through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Transportation Enhancement Program.
