The Kankakee City Council met Feb. 21 at the Donald E. Green Public Safety Center to vote on issuing $7 million in general obligation bonds.

The bonds were split into two separate packages, including one for $4 million of refunding bonds and another for $3 million to support infrastructure work.

The council was also expected to vote on the fiscal year 2016-17 budget for the Kankakee Environmental Services Utility.
