The county finance committee met to discuss credit card policy and budget amendments.

The Kankakee County Finance Committee discussed its credit card policy on Jan. 26, in the wake of a security breach.

Debbie Woodruff told the committee that several unauthorized charges appeared on the village's credit card account, and that the village's credit card company would handle them, likely resulting in credits received.

Woodruff used the issue as an opportunity to bring up the village's credit card policy, which had contained language obligating county employees to pay back any unauthorized charges. County officials agreed that the policy should be revised or updated.

The committee also approved an adjustment to the current budget that moves the general fund amount from $26.8 million to $27,781,000 to accommodate for additional grant funds received by the county.
