Mayor Mick Porter recently announced various changes concerning local access to Momence City Hall in his "From the Mayor's Desk" newsletter.

As of Monday, all visitors will need to use a door at 105 W. Washington St. to enter City Hall. The drop box for water and sewer payments will stay at the current entrance on Dixie Highway, along with the 15-minute parking spots allocated for the drop box. Other 15-minute parking and handicapped parking will be located on Washington Street near the new entrance.

City Council meetings will also relocate, to 29 N. Dixie Highway. Public hearing and adjudication hearings will be held at this address, as well.

In the same newsletter, Porter said police would be combing the city in search of property and ordinance violations throughout the month of April in an effort to improve public safety.
