Ever on the lookout to broaden student prospects, Bourbonnais-based Olivet Nazarene University’s business school recently introduced four new concentration choices for students in its bachelor’s program, including public administration and three different types of management.

With human resources, operations and health care headlining its management-major menu, Olivet continues to strive to offer the most up-to-date certification opportunities.

Each of the concentrations offers advantageous seminars, memberships and certifications, some involving travel, and hands-on experience ranging from the latest software to hospital work.

“Our business students are finding meaningful internships as students and landing jobs with prestigious companies once they graduate,” Glen Rewerts, dean of Olivet’s School of Business, said. “Companies from across the spectrum are recruiting our students because of the quality of the coursework, as evidenced by the professional certifications students can earn while completing their degree. Students consistently tell us they feel prepared to compete successfully in the evolving business world.”

In fact, Olivet accounting students produced the second-highest pass rates for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam throughout Illinois, according to Accounting.com, which gathers statistics and functions as a resource for the accounting field.

Additionally, Olivet students achieved the highest average exam scores among 11 top Illinois schools, surpassing even Northwestern University.
