Kankakee water conservation district approves financial report

The Kankakee County Soil and Water Conservation District met Nov. 10 to approve the financial report.

KANKAKEE COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT

Minutes June 13, 2016

The Kankakee County Soil and Water Conservation District held its regular monthly meeting Monday, June 13, 2016. Chairman Jeff O’Connor called the meeting to order at 1:10 pm. Present were Directors Jeff O’Connor, Alan Wissmiller and Larry Kirchner, Resource Conservationist Kymber Nakaerts, District Conservationist Trenton Rader and FSA CED Ed Brown. Absent were Directors Dave Peters and Erich Schott, Associate Director John Settle and Administrative Coordinator Linda Settle.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Kirchner made and Wissmiller seconded a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed three to zero.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Minutes of May 9, 2016 Board Meeting: Kirchner made and O’Connor seconded a motion to approve the minutes as printed. Motion passed three to zero.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Approval of Time and Travel: Wissmiller made and Kirchner seconded a motion to approve the time and travel reports. Motion passed three to zero.

Approval of Financial Report: Kirchner made and Wissmiller seconded a motion to approve the financial report. Motion passed three to zero.

Approval of Bills: O’Connor made and Wissmiller seconded a motion to approve the paying of bills as presented. Motion passed three to zero.

CORRESPONDENCE: Included were a public notice for the proposed temporary causeway and cofferdams within the Kankakee River in Kankakee County and thank you notes from Triad High School and Richland County High School for the District’s support and sponsorship of the Illinois Envirothon competition.

OLD BUSINESS:

Erosion & Sediment Control Service Update – Nakaerts reported that there were 2 new applications in addition to what was printed in her report.

NRI Approval – None.

Funding Update – SB2046 was vetoed by the Governor on Friday, June 10, 2016.

Great Lakes Basin Railroad – The comment period has been extended to July 15, 2016.

NLRS – Still waiting on more information and guidance regarding steps to be taken.

NEW BUSINESS:

Prevailing Wage Ordinance – The prevailing wage ordinance was presented for signatures.

LUC Meeting – The meeting was cancelled due to a lack of quorum.

REPORTS – In addition to printed reports, if necessary

RC REPORT – Nakaerts stated that she will be taking vacation time July 18th – July 25th.

AC REPORT – Not in attendance.

DC REPORT – Rader stated that the CSP obligation deadline is approaching, there are 9 applications and all were accepted. He also reported that he is finishing up CRP revisions.

FSA REPORT – CED Brown reported that they are still working on renewing the building lease. He also stated that acreage reporting has been very slow.

COMMITTEE REPORTS –

The next regular District Board meeting will be July 11, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

O’Connor made and Wissmiller seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed three to zero. The meeting adjourned at 2:13 pm.
