Kankakee County Board met Friday, Dec. 2.
The Kankakee County Board establishes budgets for county funds, levies taxes, and adopts ordinances and rules pertaining to the management and business of the county departments. The board includes one member from each of the county’s 28 districts, each serving a four-year term. The board meets at 9 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the fourth-floor Board Room at the Administration Building, 189 E. Court St.

The special meeting of the Kankakee County Board, Kankakee, Illinois, held on December 2, 2016, was called to order at 9:00 a.m., by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Bossert. The following members were present:
Mr. Tripp, Mr. Washington, Jr., Mr. LaGesse, Mr. Stauffenberg, Mr. James, Mr. Vickery, Mr. Hess, Mr. Enz, Mrs. Polk, Mr. McConnell, Mr. Mulcahy, Mr. Snipes, Mr. Byrne, Mr. Sirois, Mr. Liehr, Mr. Hildebrand, Mr. Wheeler, Mr. Einfeldt, Mrs. Webber, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Payton, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Bossert

Executive Session
Mr. Enz made the motion to enter executive session at 9:04 a.m. for the purposes of reviewing purchase or lease of real property. Review of executive session minutes would not be reviewed today. Mr. LaGesse seconded the motion. A rol call vote was taken with the motion passing 22 ayes and 0 nays. Motion carried.
Mr. Hess made the motion to exit executive session at 9:20 a.m. Mr. LaGesse seconded the motion. Motion carried by a voice vote.
Resolution
A resolution was read regarding an Intergovernmental Agreement between IKAN Regional Office of Education, Kankakee Public Building Commission, and Kankakee County Board (122). Mr. Snipes made the motion to adopt the resolution. Mr. Washington, Jr. seconded the motion. Mr. Bossert explained the resolution and stated funding for the purchase would be provided by the Regional Office of Education. The county board would agree to help support maintenance and utilities if needed. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 23 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

Mr. LaGesse made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 a.m. Mr. Mulcahy seconded the motion. Motion carried by
a voice vote.
