East Dundee Planning & Zoning and Historic Commission met Thursday, Nov. 10.

November 10, 2016

Chairman Brewer called the Planning & Zoning and Historic Commission meeting to order at 7:07 pm.

Roll: 5 Present (Scarpelli, Brewer, Holliman, Schock and Bernstein). 4 Absent (Apke, Steneck, Muscat and Meyer). Also present were Deputy Village Administrator Jennifer Johnsen and Deputy Village Clerk Katherine Holt.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

1. May 12, 2016 Planning and Zoning/Historic Commission Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve the May 12, 2016 meeting minutes by Schock/Holliman.

5 Ayes (Scarpelli, Brewer, Holliman, Schock and Bernstein). 4 Absent (Apke, Steneck, Muscat and Meyer). Motion carries.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None

NEW BUSINESS: None

HISTORIC COMMISSION:

1. Discussion and Motion to Recommend Approval/Denial of a Certificate of Appropriateness for Complete Bridal’s Proposed Awning – 12 E. Main Street.

David Gaffke, owner of Complete Bridal, is requesting approval for a new awning sign. He advised that the awning would be a brown color with yellow lettering. He said he is changing his businesses name to Bridal Boys by Complete Bridal to match the name of his new television show. He stated that the phone number on the awning belongs to an alteration sub business in his store. Deputy Administrator Johnsen commented that phone numbers were technically not allowed to appear on signage in the historic district.

Motion to Approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for Complete Bridal’s Proposed Awning – 12 E. Main Street by Scarpelli/Holliman.

5 Ayes (Scarpelli, Brewer, Holliman, Schock and Bernstein). 4 Absent (Apke, Steneck, Muscat and Meyer). Motion carries.

Motion to adjourn the Historic Commission Meeting at 7:22pm by Bernstein/Schock. Motion was passed by unanimous vote. Meeting adjourns.
