The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a couple of good men ... or women.
Sheriff Mike Downey put out the call for candidates for deputy sheriff and correctional officer positions that were recently vacated due to retirements.
Deputy sheriff candidates should qualify as lateral applicants, including having at least one year of law enforcement experience.
Those interested in applying for the deputy sheriff position should also be at least 21 years old and have 80 hours of college credit. Those interested in the correctional officer position must be at least 18 and have a high school or equivalent diploma. All applicants should be U.S. citizens, have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
More information about the positions and qualifications, as well as application forms, can be found on the Kankakee County Sheriff’s website.
