St. George Community Consolidated School District 258 Board met April 27.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Meeting was called to Order at 6:00 p.m. by President, Darrell Pendleton.

Present at Roll Call: Pendleton, Yuska, Goering, Armstrong, Dykstra, and Cox.

Absent: Austin. A quorum was present.

Individuals present at Roll Call other than Board of Education members:

Helen Boehrinsen, Superintendent.

Ms. Soukup, District Office Assistant, read the canvass results from Bruce Clark, Kankakee County Clerk: Board Member 2-year term: Paula Dykstra with 480 votes, Board Members 4year term: LaDawn Armstrong with 416 votes, Ryan Cox with 429 votes, Darrell Pendleton with 428 votes, and Kathy Fouts with 457 votes. The canvass of the Country Clerk's office recognized that Paula Dykstra, LaDawn Armstrong, Ryan Cox, Darrell Pendleton, and Kathy Fouts, received the highest amount of votes, and are the winners of the St. George CCSD No. 258 School Board Election.

Appoint President Pro-tem:

Mr. Yuska nominated Darrell Pendleton as President Pro-tem.

Mrs. Armstrong made the motion for the second.

Yeas: Pendleton, Yuska, Goering, Armstrong, Dykstra, and Cox.

Nays: None.

Absent: Austin.

Motion passed.

Appoint Secretary Pro-tem:

Mr. Yuska nominated Addison Goering as Secretary Pro-tem.

Mr. Cox made the motion for the second.

Yeas: Yuska, Goering, Armstrong, Dykstra, Cox, and Pendleton.

Nays: None.

Absent: Austin.

Motion passed.

Seating of New and Re-Elected Board Members:

Paula Dyskstra, LaDawn Armstrong, Ryan Cox, Darrell Pendleton, and Kathy Fouts read the Oath of Office.

Election of Officers:

Mr. Yuska nominated Darrell Pendleton as President.

Mr. Goering made the motion for the second.

Darrell Pendleton was declared the President.

Mrs. Armstrong nominated Thomas Yuska as Vice-President.

Mrs. Dykstra made the motion for the second.

All in favor.

Nays: None.

Thomas Yuska was declared the Vice-President.

Mr. Cox nominated Addison Goering as Secretary.

Mrs. Armstrong made the motion for the second.

All in favor.

Nays: None.

Addison Goering was declared the Secretary.

Establish Calendar for Regular Meetings:

Motion was made by Mr. Pendleton to approve the St. George CCSD 258 Board of Education Meetings May 2017 - June 2019 calendar for the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the District Board Room.

Appointments:

Mr. Goering made the motion to appoint Jason Johnson as School Treasurer.

Mr. Cox made the motion for the second.

Mrs. Armstrong made the motion to appoint Karen Soukup as Recording Secretary.
