Momence's historic downtown will host its last Cruise Night of the season from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 22, featuring antique and unique cars and trucks as well as music, prizes and deals from local businesses, according to a city flier.
Cruise Nights have been held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month since May on Washington Street. This year, Main Street Momence, which organized the series, extended the events to three hours in length.
Sponsored by Van Drunen Farms, Steele Collision and the Momence Chamber of Commerce, among others, Cruise Nights offer the opportunity to see cool cars and enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Momence, the flier said. Each Cruise Night features a People’s Choice Award for the cars and a $100 cash prize giveaway, culminating in a $250 grand finale prize.
If inclement weather occurs, the event will be rescheduled for Sept. 12.
