Robin Kelly, U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 2nd district since 2013, shared a series of posts on July 24, 2025, addressing health care policy, honoring law enforcement officers, and announcing internship opportunities in her office.
In her first post on July 24, Kelly criticized Republican lawmakers regarding health care policy: "The truth is that the @HOUSEGOP does not prioritize your health care. President Trump and his Republicans raised your health insurance costs to give more money to those who don’t need it."
Later the same day, she commemorated the anniversary of an attack at the U.S. Capitol: "27 years ago, U.S. Capitol Police Officer Jacob Chestnut & Detective John Gibson were shot and killed in the line of duty, protecting our Capitol. Thank you, Capitol Police, for your unwavering dedication. In turn, we must pass gun safety laws to protect law enforcement and our"
In a third post on July 24, Kelly announced openings for fall internships in both Washington D.C. and several Illinois offices: "Our fall internship is open to interested applicants! Interns can be based in DC or in the District offices in Chicago, Matteson, or Danville.

Kelly has represented Illinois’s 2nd District since replacing Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2013 and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. She was born in New York City in 1956 and currently resides in Matteson. Kelly graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977.
